Every Brock Student has Coverage

The Brock Graduate Students’ Association offers full and part-time graduate students a comprehensive Health, Vision, Dental, Travel & Accident plan through Student VIP. We are that VIP experience you’re looking for.

The exclusive choice of Brock U Students!

Eligibility
Full-time domestic, full time/part-time International and most full-time/part-time Co-op students are automatically charged for the Health and Dental plan in the Fall term only. Students who begin their program in the Winter or Spring term, are not automatically charged for the plans, and must OPT-IN to access coverage (see Brock website). You must check your Brock Tuition billing to determine if you have been billed for the plans. Early start students (July or Aug), are highly recommended to purchase private short-term insurance coverage for the period before their student plan begins on September 1st. Students on Leave of Absence are not eligible for the plans. All students must be under the age of 80 to be eligible for coverage, only students under the age of 70 are eligible for travel coverage.

Opt-Out

Students with proof of alternative health & dental coverage may opt-out of the plan. The GSA will not directly reimburse graduate students; their Brock accounts will be credited. To opt-out online go to the Student VIP site. The September 30th deadline is firm. UHIP is not considered alternate coverage. The opt-out is effective for the full year, no opt-ins are allowed.

Opt-In

NOW Online — For new full-time, part-time students and new students who want to add family. Students who begin their program in the Winter or Spring term, are not automatically charged for the plans, and must OPT-IN to access coverage. To opt-in online, using a credit card or Visa debit, go to the Student VIP site. To opt-in manually, please visit the GSA Office (MC C302) – payment only accepted by cheque or money order in the office. Always check your Brock tuition billing to determine if you have been assessed the Health and Dental fee.

Plan card

In order to submit claims at the pharmacy and the dentist, you will need a GSA Plan Card. You can print your personalized GSA Health and Dental Plan Benefit Card at download one here.

Health Services Clinic

There is a full service health clinic on campus, available to all students, even if you opt out of the GSA health plan. It is located in Harrison Hall and offers a walk-in clinic, as well as by appointment – see their website for more details.
